Enabling Impact Enablers to Amplify Their Impact

Pollinate Impact is a member-led network of impact incubators serving entrepreneurs in the Global South.

Enabling Impact Enablers to Amplify Their Impact_

Together, our members are committed to building a resilient and thriving impact incubation industry, while advocating for their needs and priorities with a unified voice.

Pollinate Impact: Our Structure and Vision

Pollinate Impact was founded on the radical idea: to accelerate the work of social entrepreneurs in the Global South, the incubators that guide them needed support themselves.  Despite the critically important role that these organisations play in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, they receive the least support and operate under some of the most restrictive funding mechanisms.

Our founding members guide the network’s structure and vision: The Miller Center for Global Impact, Impact Hub Abidjan, Reach for Change, Upaya Social Ventures, and Villgro Africa.

The Pollinate Impact Network

The foundation of Pollinate Impact is rooted in Villgro USA’s strategy to support incubators on a larger scale and in lessons learned on how best to transform this industry.

The Iceberg Problem We’re Working to Address

Over half of the world’s 8,000 business incubators and accelerators were established between 2014 and 2020. This rapid growth, along with the push to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, puts tremendous pressure on impact incubators—especially those in the Global South, where demand for social and economic improvement is high. Since impact incubators are on the front lines, catalysing social enterprise growth—requiring resources such as connections, peer support, knowledge sharing, and collective strength—we structured our network to provide them with avenues for collaboration, learning, and action.

We are taking a systems-change approach to help build a healthy and effective impact ecosystem.

An Incubator-Centric Approach

At Pollinate Impact, we are working to address the needs of business incubators and accelerators, taking a systems-change approach to enable a healthy and effective impact ecosystem.

Impact incubators are in the driver’s seat, propelling change from the ground up. As a member-led network, we actively shape our practical programmes and collaborative initiatives to meet your needs.

We know that you have one of the toughest jobs out there.  We feel your pain and see your struggles:

Surface-Level Challenges

Why should you feel like you’re struggling alone? There are thousands of incubators who are struggling with the exact same challenges as you.

Keep the lights on while developing innovative new revenue streams because your funding sources are restrictive.
Collaborate with other incubators because there’s often too much sense of competition for limited resources.
Incubator Challenges
Attract and retain a rockstar team to deliver services to your entrepreneurs, because your employees have few – if any – career pathways to explore. Admit it, you probably ended up here by accident, too!
Have influence and agency in this ecosystem. You feel like you’re being pulled in different directions because your funders, your entrepreneurs, and the impact investors you engage with often all demand different things.
Develop or implement the systems and processes you need because, candidly, they’re expensive and take time to implement… and your resources are limited and these often feel like a luxury instead of a must-have.
Resolve the tension between quality versus quantity and your timelines to deliver are often too short to deliver the quality you want.

"The Growth Guidance Programme has been transformative, significantly advancing the Shared Value Hub's fundraising strategy and impact. Paul provided invaluable insights and actionable strategies that reshaped our approach to fundraising as well as donor engagement. Thanks to his expert guidance, we developed a thoughtful and comprehensive plan to diversify our fundraising base, while also capitalising on climate funding opportunities. The Programme empowered us with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to elevate our fundraising efforts, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth."

"Working for an organisation supporting climate innovation, I’ve always believed incubation transforms ideas into real impact. Pollinate Potluck 2024 reinforced this. Over three days, I joined panels, shared insights, visited incubators, and learned how strong support helps businesses refine strategies and overcome challenges. The event was more than just learning—it was a chance to connect with professionals from India, Uganda, Myanmar, the Philippines, Kenya, and the UK. I left inspired, prepared, and more committed than ever to making a difference.."

"The past few months have been deeply energising. Your thoughtful facilitation gave us the space to ask hard questions, challenge assumptions, and translate complexity into clarity. We’re especially grateful for the way the program created space for meaningful exploration and a chance to dig into the financial modelling with your guidance. That process has equipped us with tools we’ll carry forward well beyond the program."

"It has been an incredibly insightful and enriching experience, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow. The discussions on donor discovery, pitches, and relationship management were especially valuable, and I am excited to apply these insights as we work to strengthen ONOW’s fundraising efforts. I am confident that the knowledge and connections gained will help us achieve greater impact and long-term success for the organisation."
