When applications pour in hundreds, sometimes thousands, screening becomes the bottleneck that pulls you away from everything else. The deeper programme design. The nuanced founder support. The work that actually moves the needle.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. And we think there’s a better way forward together.
Welcome to The Build Table, an exploratory series designed to respond to challenges like these through collective action. This is a Collaborative Action Team (CAT) format where we don’t just talk about challenges we roll up our sleeves and build solutions. Together.
Here’s how it works: We ground a problem in real evidence and member insights. Then we invite you to shape a practical path forward. Not someday. Not in theory. Right now, with the people in the room.
What This First Session Is About
Screening at scale has emerged as a shared priority across the network. This first session is designed to explore the challenge and lay the groundwork for collective action.
We’ll share:
- A snapshot of what the network is seeing, where screening bottlenecks emerge, where processes break down, and why this work is best taken forward together.
- Early thinking on an AI-supported screening concept is being explored with our partner, Collective Impact.
This work does not aim to replace human judgment or automate difficult decisions.Â
Instead, we’re exploring how responsibly designed support tools informed by incubator inputs might help surface signal from noise, reduce manual burden, and strengthen decision-making while keeping practitioners firmly in control.
What You’ll Walk Away With
By the end of this session, you’ll have clarity on:
- What the CAT will actually work on, the scope, the questions we’re tackling, the outcomes we’re aiming for
- How the cohort will collaborate and learn over the coming months (hint: it’s iterative, practical, and grounded in what works for you)
- How you can contribute, whether that’s sharing your screening processes, offering data, or stress-testing what effective and ethical screening looks like in practice
We’ll close with an invitation to join the CAT cohort, a group of Pollinate Impact members committed to co-designing, testing, and learning together as this work evolves.
Pull up a chair. The listening has begun. Now it’s time to build.
About The Build Table
The Build Table is where Pollinate Impact members move from shared challenges to shared solutions. Each session introduces a concrete issue emerging across regions and contexts, and invites members to join a Collaborative Action Team (CAT) to co-design, test, and build something practical together.
This is not a webinar series. It is a space for collective work.
